A Volvo truck driven by former Formula 1 driver Tiff Needell takes on the 1350hp Koenigsegg One:1 to see if it can complete one lap of the Knutstorp race track faster than the world’s first ‘megacar’ can do two.
[Not a valid template]Up until a few weeks ago, nobody in the whole of human history (and this is a legitimate fact) had ever said, ‘y’know, I’ve always wanted to know which is quicker, a Volvo FH truck or a Koenigsegg One:1.’ We are however rather glad they did.
On the face of it, why on earth wouldn’t you back the 1350hp, perfect power-to-weight ratio-ed One:1 is this were just some kind of left field drag race or a hilariously one-sided time attack. There is though a little more to it than that. The FH for instance is the first truck in the world to boast a I-Shift Dual Clutch gearbox, and that beneath the skin ‘lies the heart of a sportscar’.
What better way to put this seemingly preposterous claim to the test than by seeing if the FH – driven b former Formula 1 driver and current Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell – can do one lap of the Knutstorp race circuit in Sweden faster than the 1350bhp, perfectly power-to-weight ratio-ed One:1 can do two.
So, who’s your money on?
