Toro Rosso highlights ten years of Formula 1 development in a 360-degree video showing the evolution of one car to the next
We’ll admit our publishing editor has gone a bit geeky with this video (there’s still three months to go before the Formula 1 season starts again, so he has to get his fix from somewhere). Still, for those of you interested in the development of motorsport’s pinnacle series from season to season, this might be of interest.
This video from perennial mid-fielders Toro Rosso starts with a 360-degree render of its first-ever F1 car, the STR1 from 2005. During the 1min runtime, the STR will ‘evolve’ from one nomenclature to the next, ably summing up a decade of f1 development., plus the Cosworth, Ferrari and Renault powerplants that went with them. The highlight? Probably the STR3 from 2008, which delivered the team its sole victory so far at a sodden Italian Grand Prix that year. You may have heard of the winning driver too.
