Petrolicious takes a close up look at this 1968 Porsche 911 T, frequenter of Italian historic rallies.
When the crankandpiston.com team think of the rolling hills of Italy, the picturesque greenery, the winding stretches of tarmac, the customary oversized Ray Bans and Matt Monroe supplying the tunes, we tend to picture ourselves in a vintage Alfa Romeo, Ferrari or Lamborghini. Unless of course your name is Phil McGovern, in which case you’re more likely to picture the cruise in a classic Porsche 911. So too does Donato Maniscalco, owner of this pristine 1968 Porsche 911 T, which Petrolicious recently shot in Italy.
Having yearned for a Porsche since he was 10 years old, the Italian prefers not to keep the 110hp 2.0-litre Porka hidden from the public gaze and camera flashes. Instead, he tours the country – in what he calls his ‘not much more than a flattened Volkswagen Beetle’ –participating in one historic rally after another.
We wonder if he has Matt Monroe on a loop too…
