Two-wheel enthusiasts in the Middle East may well have had their noses glued to the TV this weekend watching Spain’s Dani Pedrosa show the MotoGP fraternity how to take on the treacherous Malaysian downpours in Sepang. A bit closer to home though, this weekend also saw Gulf Bike Week return to Dubai.

Those of you unfamiliar with the event could probably take a fairly close shot in the dark. Across three days, fans and riders alike gathered at Dubai’s Festival City (site of the third Gulf Bike Week for the emirate) to drool over the very best examples of road, track and dirt bikes the industry and private collectors have to offer.

Display stands, car parks and exhibition areas were filled to the seams with owners showing off their prized collections, nearly all of which were also up for grabs for the right number of zeroes on a chequebook.
