With an oil and air-cooling system installed as standard, the bike keeps itself on a moderate temperature, a leg up on many other notable American motorcycle manufacturers. So basically put, power-wise we’re looking pretty good too.
The fuel tank’s shaping is just as masculine, with its sleek design, bent corners, and embossed ‘Victory’ lettering. Its capacity is 17 litres, which is both big yet apt for this particular model: a freeway cruiser.
Although the bike’s design is classical, muscular and bulky, Victory has maintained the modern mechanical and non-mechanical features, such as the rear LED braking lights and high power braking disc system (four-piston callipers on the front, and two on the rear). The Judge is equipped with a six-speed transmission, which offers mid-mounted controls for better gear change response. The overdrive six gears are just great for long distance cruising, with smoother shifting and high gear ratios for minimal engine revving. All the better for a more comfortable ride.
Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to test the motorbike at the Royal Stables, but on paper at least the bike looks set to be game-changer. It’s neither big nor small, but finds a good middle ground without foregoing the muscle. Or the tradition.
As Victory has described it: ‘American Muscle never died. It just needed handlebars’.
