All-new Ford GT on-track ahead of its competitive debut at the Daytona 24 Hours
[Not a valid template]Next year’s Daytona 24 Hours will mark the first competitive outing of the brand new Ford GT ahead of full campaigns in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, and its much-hyped return to Le Mans.
Now seemed as good a time as any then for Ford Performance to sow 50 seconds of the new GT at pace on the track at which it will begin its motorsport career…
The debut of both the production model and its track-going alter-ego come 50 years after Ford’s historic 1-2-3-4 victory at Le Mans, a victory the blue oval repeated in ’67, ’68 and ’69. Ford has yet to announce a driver line-up, but has confirmed that two two-car teams will be operated by US powerhouse Chip Ganassi Racing.
Right, enough context. Time to check out the pace. And the sound of that EcoBoost V6…
