Five seconds faster than the Ferrari 488 GTB, and 2 seconds faster than a Porsche GT2 RS. How on earth … ??!
Last year, the boys from Chevrolet lapped a 10-speed automatic Camaro ZL1 around Nürburgring in 7:29. The fastest they ever did. Last week, the track oriented ZL1 1LE got into a bit of a hurry and did it in 7:16.04, in what amounts to an improvement of one second per lap.
The new model comes with an adjustable chassis, a 650HP power upgrade to the base supercharged V-8 engine and racing based adjustable suspension. But most of all, and in a testament to old school motoring, a 6-gear manual transmission.
The model is available this summer and will go on sale for close to 70,000USD. In the meantime, watch the teaser video.
