The plucky boys from CAR Magazine in the UK have put together a group test of epic proportions for the July issue. The McLaren MP4-12C is the car of the moment and they decided to see just how good it was by pitching it against the supercar establishment. If the orange beasty can do a good job here, then the team at McLaren can rest easy.
Battling against the McLaren MP4-12C we have the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Lamborghini’s Gallardo Spyder Performante, Porsche’s hardcore 911 GT2 RS, the sublime Audi R8 V10 and the rather lovely Ferrari 458 Italia. CAR thrapped this sextet around Rockingham in the UK with a certain tame racing driver behind the wheel. In a little dig to the big guns at TopGear, the Peterborough clan persuaded Ben Collins – ie, the old Stig – to take up driving duties.
