    I, too, have heard such rumours.
    My own view, having been only marginally involved as a Deputy Clerk of the Course on occasion, is that the spectacle will be sadly missed. Like a good warm-up act in the theatre, there was little like it to get spectators wound up.
    Whether it could strictly be called ‘sport’ or not, may be a separate question!
