Torro Rosso Formula One. To Become Team UAE?

The rumours around the UAE are already flowing and along with the Spanish media, there is a strong belief that Scuderia Toro Rosso will soon be taken over by the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), based right here in the United Arab Emirates.

The theory is that from Monza (Italian Grand Prix) onwards the team could be re-branded as Team UAE and IPIC will brand the race cars with differing companies, which it owns, race by race towards the end of the season.

The companies being muted include Spanish oil company Cepsa, Falcon private Bank, Nova Chemicals as well as various others entities.

There are also rumors around that there is a new F1 factory already under construction in Abu Dhabi near the Yas Marina facility… which is quite logically if you think about it. Having a world class facility on your door step make sense to us. Mind you, the logistics between the old factory in Faenza and their wind-tunnel department in Bicester, England could prove to be a pain, unless that is all moved to the UAE?
