The United Arab Emirates celebrates its 40th anniversary on December 2, and to help us get in a celebratory mood, Porsche has released two special edition bits of merchandise.

For the patriotic Emirati (or UAE resident) with a taste for German engineering, how about a Porsche Design Driver’s Selection 911 UAE Chronograph watch? The limited edition quartz timepiece has split-time measurement and date display, stopwatch and tachymeter inside a stainless steel case, while the black dial sports UAE national colour accents and a UAE national flag. Only 100 will be made, and they’re sold at a cost of 2640dhs ($718).

If clothing is more your bag, try on a Porsche UAE polo short, which comes with a UAE national flag on the back and 2:12 on the sleeve, marking the National Day. These are more affordable, costing 300dhs ($82).

Both items are available from Porsche Centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
