It doesn’t take much to realise that we have a love affair with the Porsche 993 here at crankandpiston.com. In fact most Porsche float our boat, but it’s the 993 (1993-1998) that really floats our boat. It’s a fundamental thing that generates that attraction and not simply the gorgeous lines, penned by Tony Hatter. It’s that simple spirit, the lack of electronic gubbins, the light weight approach and of course the final run out of the legendary air-cooled lump.
The pinnacle of the 993 generation? Some say the RS, some say the GT2. The deft narrow body RS was and is a gorgeous and super rare piece of kit, however when it comes to impact, the original widow maker has something very speical going for it… doesn’t it?
