Now this is a good thing right? Yes and no. One aspect to all of the activities talking place that was seemingly always missing was a cohesive approach. An event that encompassed all of the above and through in a bit of street culture and a car show all at the same time. An automotive festival as such, and one that catered for all parties.
All that changed this past Friday evening at the Dubai Autodrome. Bursting at the seams does not do it justice. Literally thousands (a big call out in the UAE) of car enthusiasts pushed through the gates of the circuit, for the first running of The Chase, which was pulled together by Mohamed Al Falasi and the team at Motorsport Solutions.

Crazy trucks were the order of the day. A very random double tail light set-up made this truck look like another had embedded itself into the truck bed.

A bit of local UAE flavour… Nasty Nissan Patrol more than likely capable of embarrassing anything that staged up next to it.
Outside of the car show section there were three on track activities. Again, all within walking distance right in the middle of the activities. Awesome stuff.
As you can see, the paddock area opposite to the AutoX area was pretty full and to make it even better, the vibe was laid back, enjoyable and full of guys and gals all their for the same reason.
One of the neatest aspects was the inclusion of R/C drifting…
All in The Chase was a superb start. Supported by all the right people, enjoyed by everyone and it sends a very positive vibe going forward for the next events.
