News dropped from Mazda recently about a new generation MX-5. Before you get too excited though, the new project is not set to land on terra firma much earlier than 2015.
Why do we bring it up now then? Principally because this project is not only a new Mazda, it will also form the basis of a new Alfa Romeo coupe. Yes, having paid close attention to the joint Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ venture, both Mazda and Alfa Romeo are teaming up to produce their own, ahem, ‘differentiated, distinctly styled, iconic and brand-specific lightweight, roadsters’.
At the moment, all we know is that the new roadsters will be rear-wheel drive, though we would have taken a solid guess at that anyway. Still, we’re always keen at crankandpiston to give the automotive world a bit of inspiration.
So, for your viewing pleasure, we present to you the new Malfa Romeda coupe.
