Compared to the helter-skelter emirate lifestyle in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Al Rahba is a peaceful hollow almost equidistantly between them. Perfect for blowing the cobwebs away with a quick blast in the 3.7-litre V6 G37. And with sun, sea and sand in copious supply and the iPod pumping out its finest through the Infiniti’s Bose speaker system, now seems a perfect opportunity to drop the metal folding roof.
Easier said than done as it turns out.

First I need to move a panel in the boot so that the roof has space to fold into, which of course means finding a place to pull over and emptying the boot first (“ah, so that’s where that lens cap ended up”).
