There’s not much more you can do but dribble at this shot. Taken by supercar snapper extraordinaire Alex Penfold, it’s of a Ferrari F40 LM lurking in the pits at Silverstone during the recent Ferrari Open race meeting, organised by the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain.
Only a handful of factory LMs were built by Ferrari, following the introduction of the original racing car, as piloted by Jean Alesi at Laguna Seca in 1989. Beefed up all round and with power from the twin-turbo V8 boosted up to past 600bhp, it was – and still is – a complete monster. Grrr!
