SEMA. The Holy Grail of tuner shows and it’s just around the corner. If I was to ask you to name one car that was going to command the lime light during the 2012 show, a pile of money would be laid down on the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S, wouldn’t it? Well thankfully that is just the case, and to add some extra spice to the show, Toyota/Scion have stepped up and pulled together a Tuner Challenge.
Usually, the grand unveiling of these cars is at the show itself, however Scion (Toyota) held a private shin-dig in LA, where they dropped all the custom vehicles that will be heading to said show. Surprise spoilt then?! Well, not really. The trio of Toyota 86/Scion FR-S Tuner Challenge are super cool and along with the main three, four other customised Toyota 86/Scion FR-S models, all pulling off differing themes were in attendance.
Wanting to show the end user (yeah, that’s you and me) just how mild or wild you can go with the little sensation, Toyota/Scion teamed up with a number of top builders in the USA to show the car off and also to show just how quickly the car has been picked up in the tuner circles.
All seven projects on show range from off the shelf (Five Axis) to full custom as well as street modified to full Time Attack specials. From what we understand the Evasive Motorsports (teased on our Facebook page earlier)…
