Clearly the interest is high. There’s still and hour and a half until the grand unveil at the Porsche stand, and already the hall is so crowded it’s difficult to window shop amidst the Cayennes, Panameras and 911s on display.

It wasn’t too long before we were finally shown the all new Cayman (silver) and Cayman S (yellow).
The new model follows the same design language as its predecessor, keeping the Boxster looks and fastback roofline. Somehow the new-for-2013 Cayman manages to look more compact than the outgoing model, despite being 0.254cm longer. There’s still a debate going as to whether the integrated rear wing sits better on the Cayman or the Boxster, but we’ll let you find your own side of that particular fence. The interior of the Boxster meanwhile features improved materials and a more upscale design. Thanks to its new 5.9cm longer wheelbase, the Cayman boasts improved interior room.
Lift the lid and you’ll find the new Cayman features a 2.7-litre flat six, good for 271bhp (10bhp more than the previous model) and 213 lb-ft of torque when used with a six-speed PDK transmisison. The Cayman S meanwhile spews out 320bhp and 272 lb-ft from its 3.4-litre boxer-six, which will see Porsche’s middle child hit 100kph from standstill in just 5s.
