Great photography is one of the main drivers behind crankandpiston.com, with one of our aims being to unearth cool car culture and show it to you through stunning pics! If we go back to last weekend, I was sat comfortably at home surfing around the net looking for some cool content and generally faffing around like I do, when one of the above pictures taken by Sameer Arshad jumped out at me.
I immediately tracked him down and asked whether he was interested in contributing to crankandpiston – as hoped…he said yes.

I was pleasantly surprised to see these pictures sat waiting for me in my inbox this morning of a sweet looking Maserati Granturismo MC Corse that has received a bit of love from a local custom/fab shop called Chrome & Carbon Exclusive Autostyling. Mix that in with some very tidy pictures by Sameer and you have a great combination.
As mentioned above this Maserati Granturismo with MC Corse styled bodykit built from scratch by Chrome & Carbon Exclusive Autostyling looks incredible – and even better on the move.

Chrome & Carbon are a local car customisation company based in Dubai that specialises in body styling, paintjobs, interiors, body kits and almost anything else that you can dream up. The end result to this crazyness is that the client always ends up with something unique and tailored to his or her preferences. This can and sometimes does have the ingredients for fail; however on many occasions you end up with a work of art that has never been seen before.
Each car that comes out of this workshop is truly unique and very distinct. I love how personalisation drives people to doing crazy things with their vehicles. This particular Maserati was fresh off the showroom floor when it was delivered to the Chrome Carbon workshop…

As with all bodykits it will be a love or hate affair…this is even more relevant when your starting point was initally penned by Pininfarina.
To then have it modified by someone else could be deemed to be completely insane by a large proportion of people. I’m one of those poeple that think there is always opportunity with modifications to a cars look as designers have to play it too safe these days to ensure margins are up held, profit generated and ofcourse car’s are sold!

The void that was once filled by true coachbuilders is now filled by the likes of Chrome & Carbon.
I look forward to a trip down to check out their facility and see what other projects they have stuffed away.
