My good friend Chris has just passed this awesome bug on to a new home, so I got all nostalgic and wanted to share some photos of this very cool car.

I too, have recently ended a long and eventful relationship with an old beetle that yes, also happened to be extremely low. The interesting part of how Chris got into crazy old lowered VWs in the first place lies with my old car.

A couple of years ago I lived in an inner city Melbourne suburb, and I used to get the bug out every now and again for cruising to work, or weekends or whatever.

By chance I happened to meet one of my neighbours, Chris, who had seen the car out and about and he mentioned to me that he thought it was pretty cool, and very different looking. As a result, he was keen to find out more about them and possibly get one himself.

It didn’t take much digging to find a car to become his new project, and next thing I know this guy who lived about 10 doors down form me was also cruising around in a slammed beetle.. as a result of being inspired my mine!

We’ve both decided that it was a fun adventure.. but time to move on and let other people enjoy the cars as much as we did. I’m going to take a break from the oldies for a while.. I can’t handle the cost of it all at the moment!

Chris’ latest weapon of choice is a Mini Cooper S, and even only in his hands for a matter of weeks, the tasteful mods have been applied thick and fast. Full feature of his car coming later this Spring.
