In its new teaser video for the motorsport-spec 650S GT3, McLaren brings a whole new meaning to ‘being chased by the pack’.
Was anybody else wondering, for a model destined to replace the 12C GT3 and spend its time destroying its similarly race-specced opposition on-track, why official press images of the new 650S GT3 were taken in the middle of a wooded glade? Surely hairpin bends, tight left-right chicanes, and the traditional ‘start-finish straight’ shot would have been the way to go…?
But no. McLaren has instead opted for an altogether different theme for its 650S GT3 teaser video, the 500hp track beast the prey for a pursuing pack. Not that Woking’s newboy seems all that concerned of course, the sound from that M838T 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 and the effectiveness of that race-tuned double-wishbone suspension send a battle cry to any and all opposition in themselves.
Certainly McLaren will be hoping, come game time, that the 650S GT3 can stay far out of reach from the pursuing pack.
