A rare, beautifully-restored Italian thoroughbred racecar from a man with a famous name.
In the late 1990s, Dick DeLuna discovered a fading 1948 Nardi-Danese 6C 2500 for sale. One of only three ever made, it bears the name of Enrico Nardi, a man who made his reputation as a celebrated test driver for both Ferrari and Lancia, and also lends his name to some exquisitely beautiful steering wheels.
For Dick, the beauty of Nardi’s creation is knowing that the car was not made by robots; it was hand-built with passion, and made to race in legendary road event like the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia. Dick set about restoring the car with the firm aim of getting it racing again. Since then, with an Alfa Romeo engine installed back under the bonnet, it’s been on track at in the States, as well as at Goodwood, Monterey and in France.
