Astons run in the family for Paul Kitchen in this latest installment from Petrolicious
Paul Kitchen drives a 1977 Aston Martin V8 Series 3. Already a pretty tasty car, but this one is extra special for Paul, as it was handed to him from his father, Jonathan. In turn, Jonathan’s love of Aston Martin comes from his grandfather, who owned a Lagonda and took Jonathan along when he visited the factory.
Paul wanted a classic car and almost bought a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. But Jonathan was unimpressed, and suggested an Aston. Paul wasn’t convinced – until he saw one. But a mint example was out of his price range.
Eventually, the father and son found a purple, very sorry example in a barn. The test drive nearly ended in disaster due to the state of the brakes, but it had potential as a project. With prices at the time much lower than today, Paul saved up enough to buy the barn find, and set about restoring it to its former glory.
The result has been captured by Petrolicious, and as always happens with their videos, now we want one.
