Some days waking up in the morning is tough. You know, the days when you have work piling up and spilling over, or you get the feeling that a swathe of emails will be sat waiting for you in your inbox ready to upset the day or possibly the week.

But then there are those special days that you just die for. After shooting the House of Portier/TAM Auto Engineering race team over the UAE National Racing weekend at Yas Marina, we had ourselves a day-long window to go out and shoot a short movie. The initial plan had fallen down as a couple of the cars we wanted where unavailable, however we were saved…well and truly!

After a quick chat in the pits and then a couple of phone calls later on in the evening, Karim Al-Azhari thankfully stepped up to the plate with his mind blowingly stunning Lamborghini LP-640. Now, I’m not exaggerating with that comment… there is something so gorgeous and right about a car that is so far out there and so crazy wearing a very subtle dress. Even more so when it has vibrant undies on.

That left us with one more car to find, and again thanks to Karim, that was sorted in about five minutes. The text that fired back at me read “How about a Ford Motorsport tuned Ford GT?”… errr – yeah that sounds just about perfect!! So thankfully, Nader Zahour from Top Line Motors stepped up – and yes that is the man himself taking a quick snap of his sultry monster.

So with the better part of half a million bucks worth of metal we turned the cameras on and got to work.

The roads where epic! Glass smooth, freshly laid tarmac and not a soul in sight.

We had to really – In between runs we had a chance to have a good look round the big and very bad GT.

The sultry Italian always had the edge in the style stakes though.

As the day came to an end we parked up to review some of the footage, grabbed a drink, had a smoke, laughed at the lairy driving and then packed up for the slog back to Dubai.
