The new machine takes the 918 Spyder concept and preps it for the track, making it look spanking gorgeous in the process. It’s a hybrid, taking the flywheel technology seen on the 911 GT3 R racer, and carries the number 22, as did the famous 917K Le Mans racers of the 1970s.
Two electric motors in the front drive the front wheels while a 3.4-litre V8 with 555bhp, revving to 10,300rpm, sits in the back. Combined, the eletric-petrol mix makes 756bhp.
