We bobbed over to the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina circuit last week to check out the finals of the Nissan GT Academy competition.
Mentored by Nissan LMP1 driver Olivier Pla, Romain Sarazin took the win as 2015’s European NISMO GT Academy champion, following a six-lap race against six other drivers (all piloting Nissan 370Zs) at the Yas Marina track.
[Not a valid template]56 GT Academy finalists from 11 countries attended the eight-day race camp in Abu Dhabi, with fourteen going through to the final day and the best being chosen to take part in the final race.
Succeeding last year’s winner Gaetan Paletou, Sarazin will now go on to the Academy’s driver development programme.
22-year-old economics and management student Lucas Ordonez also took top spot in the gamer-to-racer competition.
