Round 1 of the 2015/2016 Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup Middle East is in the bag with newboy Jeffrey Schmidt drawing first blood for Al Nabooda Racing, despite losing out in qualifying to season veteran Charlie Frijns. Fellow newcomer Ryan Cullen would take the second spot on the podium, Skydive Dubai driver Saeed Al Mehairi chasing the Irishman all the way to flag to take third. Reigning champion Zaid Ashkanani meanwhile couldn’t quite replicate his fourth place in qualifying, ultimately giving best to Emirati Shekih Hasher Al Maktoum.
Ah, sorry, should have mentioned spoiler alert if you’re looking to get caught up with the action so far from season 7 of the Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup Middle East. And, unless our ears deceive us, are that the soothing notes of [] we hear on commentary…?
