[Not a valid template]Lexus has debuted the new IS saloon model at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show.
The new IS receives an updated design language mimicking that of the updated GS and RX, with a completely redesigned front end, featuring new headlamps, larger air intakes and an evolution of Lexus’ spindle grille.10-spoke 17in alloy wheels also feature as standard. Changes to the rear include a more pronounced ‘L’-shaped LED light and new rectangular chrome exhaust tips.
The new IS model line-up will remain unchanged with three engine offerings. The rear-wheel-drive IS 200t will be powered by the recently-added 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged inline-four with intercooler, which comes mated to a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
Inside is a new 10.3-inch infotainment display (up by 3-inch on it’s predecessor). Other changes to the new IS’ interior include new cup holders, a new larger leather-wrapped palm rest with stitching for the RTI and new markings on the in-dash analogue clock. Also, two new paint schemes—Deep Blue Mica and Graphite Black Glass Flake—have been added to the IS’s exterior colour palate.
