*NOW UPDATED WITH PARTS 2-6* This Ford Mustang 5.0-litre V8 has begun its mission to find the best driving roads in Europe.
We all love a good road, whether it’s completely open and straight so you can floor it in a bid to either achieve your top speed (providing the road is private, of course) or to see what your actual 0-100kph is.
In this video from Ford Europe, automotive journalist Steve Sutcliffe heads off in a bright yellow 5.0-litre V8 Mustang on the hunt for Europe’s best driving roads.
The first clip shows Steve driving the infamous Transfagarasan highway in Romania, with other roads such as Blakey Ridge in North Yorkshire, England and the Black Forest highway in Germany will also feature in later clips. It’s not only the Mustang that will feature in the upcoming videos, either, the Ford Focus RS and the Fiesta ST are both set to make appearances.
Sutcliffe said: “It’s amazing some of the roads that didn’t actually make the list – but we weren’t just looking for twisty runs to please the petrol heads. We scored each route for thrills, quality of road surface, accessibility, hospitality, scenery, and food and drink.”
VP of communications for Ford Europe Mark Truby said the clips are to showcase “the finest driving roads across Europe with people who love cars and love driving. It’s a true ‘bucket list’ not just for petrol heads, but anyone who wants to plan an amazing road trip.”
Ford is clearly trying to showcase its performance arm’s talents with these few videos and we think it’s awesome.
