LIVE STREAMING from the 2016 Goodwood Revival, celebrating the glory years of motorsport from one of Britain’s most famous circuits.
No question, this weekend’s motor racing event of choice is the Goodwood Revival, a three-day celebration of the circuit’s glory days of period racing. And you can check out the LIVE STREAM for each day above.
First up on Friday is the Kinrara Trophy, a new 60-minute addition to the Goodwood Revival for 2016 focusing on closed-cockpit GTs that raced pre-1963. Saturday meanwhile kicks off first with the Goodwood Trophy – celebrating some of the earliest single seaters that raced shortly after the second world war – followed by the Madgwick Cup, hosting sub-3-litre sports prototypes.
The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, in tribute to one of the all-time greats, pits 1950s era 1000cc monsters against each other, while the St. Mary’s Trophy is an all Austin A35 affair. The Lavant Cup celebrates BMW’s centenary and the 2-litre straight-six powered 328 in particular, launched 80 years ago this year. Saturday’s racing is brought to a close with late-period sports prototypes – including the McLaren M1B, Ford GT40 and Lola T70 – in the Whitsun Trophy, and the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, which celebrates the Goodwood Nine Hours run only three times in 1952, 1953 and 1955.
Sunday kicks off nice and early with the Chichester Cup, a Formula Junior race bringing together early grassroot single seaters from 1958 and 1963. Things step up a power notch in the Richmond Trophy for 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars, so expect Lotus 16s and Maserati 250Fs by the boatload. Round two for both the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy and St Mary’s Trophy shortly after.
The Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration is the Goodwood Revival’s jewel though, a one hour, two driver race pitting 1960s era closed GT machines against each other, most notably AC Cobras, Ferrari 250 GTOs and Jaguar E-Types. Next up are 1.5-litre F1 cars, as raced between 1961 and 1965 in the Glover Trophy, with world championship sports cars raced between 1955 and 1960 rounding out the weekend’s racing.
A run-down of the weekend’s races at Goodwood can be found below, and you can check out the full schedule HERE. Be sure to be on the lookout too for Top Gear’s Chris Harris, former 24 Hours of Le Mans winners Derek Bell and Richard Attwood, and former World Touring Car Champions Andy Priaulx and Rob Huff among many other motoring legends.
