New Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be rear-wheel drive and will come with free stuff, says new teaser trailer
Heave a sigh of relief, because even though it was an inevitability, the new Challenger SRT Demon is rear-wheel drive, confirmed via the third and fourth teaser clips Dodge has released as part of the Demon’s pre-launch campaign.
The new video, dubbed ‘Crate’, also confirmed that the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon will be delivered with a custom-painted crate, complete with personalised plaque for the owner, inside which will be 18 components for customers to ‘design their own ultimate Street/Strip muscle car’ as part of the muscle car’s ‘capability and flexibility’. The bespoke crate features track tools, spare wheels, a ‘Track Pack System’, and ominous red lighting apparently, though you’ll probably need a film crew on-hand when unpacking that last element.
‘Crate’ follows on from ‘Body’ and ‘Reduction’, the first of which emphasised the Challenger’s rear-wheel melting performance potential while the latter highlighted the Demon’s light(er)weight build over the established Challenger SRT Hellcat. Expect the new teaser to drop within the week ahead of the Demon’s launch at this year’s New York Motor Show.
