Mercedes Benz have had a very successful run when it comes to supplying Safety cars to the top level Motorsport Series’ across the globe. And there is good reason why! So the next car in the long line of rescue wagons and pace cars is the new and very mighty, C 63 AMG. The little Hot Rod is being used as the Safety Car for the forthcoming 2011 DTM season and remarkably, or not so, the V8 Sports Saloon has only required a very minor list of tweaks to ensure it is ready to rock.

The crack squad in the skunk works devision of AMG, if there is such a place, took on the responsibility for development and production of the C63 AMG Safety Car and the AMG Performance Studio got their mitts on it too. So tune in to DTM to check it out and keep your fingers crossed that AMG will offer the services of a similar safety car within the Middle East. We can but hope.
