Abarth has gone and launched a new limited-edition 695 biposto record.
Just 133 examples of the new 695 biposto Record will be built for worldwide distribution (133 is the number of records held by the Scorpion brand).
Based on the sporting, two-seat Abarth 695 biposto, the Record version is powered by the same 187bhp 1.4-litre Turbo T-Jet 16-valve engine. Weighing in at 997kg, the car can accelerate from 0-100kph in 5.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 143mph.
Features that distinguish the model include Modena Yellow paint finish with Tar Cold Grey trims, a ‘695 Record’ badge on the side and an aluminium bonnet. 18-inch OZ alloy wheels, large Brembo brakes and an Akrapovic exhaust all come as standard.
Inside, there is special instrument panel animation, Sabelt carbon shell seats, four point seatbelts, a cargo net and a unique numbered plate.
The Abarth 695 biposto Record celebrates the 50th anniversary of the day when Carlo Abarth broke a new acceleration record in a Class G car, at the Monza race track. Unable to find the right driver, he decided to lose 30 kilograms in weight to slip into the tight cockpit himself.
