News fresh in from Doha, where Saudi Arabia’s Abdulaziz Al Faisal has just wrapped up the 2011/12 season of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East. This is the second time in three years for the young Saudi, who was also the first Saudi to win a round of the FIA GT3 Championship, aboard the Team Need for Speed BMW Z4.

His second place behind Austrian Clemens Schmid, during Round 10 (Losail, Qatar) of the 12-round championship, was enough to give him the outright drivers’ title after his closest challenger, fellow-Saudi Bandar Alesayi, went out of the race at the start of the first lap.
