The Hussarya: the name that’s been kept under lock and key at Arrinera Automotive for almost a year now. The Polish supercar that apparently dare not speak it’s name has been preparing itself for battle in the supercar arena since 2008 – 14 months of which went into the final tweaks of the design you see here – and is now available.

Granted ‘battle’ may sound a bit contrived, but in this instance it’s oddly appropriate. The Hussarya draws inspiration from the Polish Hussars, the national cavalry of the eighteenth century known for their strength, speed and maneuverability. That should give you some idea what characteristics Arrinera has attempted to instill in its first ever production model.

Design of the Aventador/458 Italia-esque bodywork for example was only rubberstamped after Arrinera designers were sure they had found the most aerodynamic shape possible. This, plus a respectable 1300kg weight and a thumping great 650hp 6.2l V8 mean the new Hussarya will hit 340kph, shoot from standstill to 100kph in just 3.2s, and go from 0-200kph in just 8.9s. Neck crick speeds, I’m sure you’ll agree.

In an effort to quell ‘the urge for constant movement’, the new Hussarya has also been fitted with two retractable spoilers that act as air brakes above 150kph. From your lofty 200kph cruising speed, you’ll be at standstill again in just 14.3s, and probably with watery eyes.
