Bentley launches a new ‘Black’ Edition of its Continental GT Speed.
[Not a valid template]In a further effort to extend the lifespan of the now 13-year old Continental, Bentley has unveiled a new Black Edition of the GT Speed, its fastest production model to date.
Engineers at Bentley have developed further boost from the Continental’s 6-litre twin-turbocharged W12. Not inordinately, since the new 633bhp and 619lb ft of torque outputs marks only a moderate increase of 7bhp and 14lb ft, but bear in mind that still puts the ‘new’ Black edition into the illustrious company of the 661bhp Ferrari 488 GTB and 666bhp McLaren 675LT. Consequently the GT Speed’s 0-100kph time has dropped to 4.1 seconds, bested only on Bentley’s line-up by the exclusive GT3-R.
Available in both coupe and convertible guises, the exterior of the Black remains largely the same save some high-gloss black detailing about the window openings, headlights and front grille. All-black, 21in five-spoke directional wheels cover distinctive brake calipers, which can be specified in red or black finishes. The Black Edition also features contrast colours on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser in four different shades. Inside, the ‘dark’ theme continues, although the design remains largely unchanged.
The new GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition models are available to order now, with customer deliveries expected to take place in the summer.
