Even as we type, crankandpiston is on its way to California to test drive the production ready BMW i8, following a spin in the pre-production prototype and even after catching a glimpse in blue and white Beemer camouflage on the streets of Dubai.
Turns out the Monkey though has beaten us to it. In his latest instalment, and after taking the new McLaren 650S around as many corners sideways as he dared, Chris Harris takes the 362hp hybrid supercar for a spin to question whether BMW’s green machine really is the future.
