Surprisingly, it’s been a bit of a busy summer at the c&p.com loft. Usually the heat drives people away from the region leaving it more baron and desolate than it already is. However as the summer descended and the population evacuated we had a knock on the door from the kind folks at General Motors to help them pull together a short online video for their award winning Chevrolet Malibu.

With all the plans in place and the team coming in from all directions, it was time to step out of the comfort of the air conditioning and brave the incredibly high temps the UAE was dishing out. Thankfully we had a Mercedes Viano along for the journey, stacked up with food, drinks and with the A/C turned up to the max.

A suitable stack of reading material was gathered up… you would be surprised at the amount of down time you have in between shoots. Or was that to cater for the lazy and creative types?

The baron desert landscape of the Northern Emirates provided the perfect back drop for what we were after… Next up, mountains.

We had a mixture of cameras functioning during the shoot, however as always with us, DSLR’s were the order of the day. Thankfully, even with the extreme heat, we didn’t suffer too much with over heating during the day.

As the sun came down, it was time to pack up and head back towards the city. After a suitably large dinner it was all hands back on deck again. As with most shoots, the days events stretched well into the night and the subsequent early morning. By 2am we were all home and totally shattered… ready for day 2 then.

Day 2 was thankfully a far easier affair with pack shot collection and scenery around the UAE the order of the day. Mind you, that didn’t stop us darting around most of the country grabbing what we needed. From Dubai Mall to Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi and back again.
