The new Superfast watch from Chopard: good name, suitably steep price tag.
Anything called the Superfast usually gets our attention. When said item is also launched at the Ascari Race Resort in Southern Spain by Jacky Ickx no less, our interest is piqued even more.
Grated the Superfast is a new watch from Chopard (which, unless you’ve scanned straight past the opening image won’t come as an enormous revelation). Like most of the horology tributes we pay on crankandpiston, the new Chopard – a luxury brand now famous for its sponsorship of the Mille Miglia and Monaco Historic Grand Prix – has a suitably hideous price tag to go alongside it rose gold base, namely $34,335.
There is a plus side should you bank balance be able to withstand the aforementioned battering. As well as being limited editions, the new Superfast apparently comes with its own slick tyre-influenced strap. Whether or not this has the same grip when you arm is wet remains to be seen.
