It has been very quiet on the race car front over the last couple of months, mainly due to sitting patiently waiting for companies in the UK to get parts sorted (bodykit and fuel tank) and for the bank account of my chief sponsor to recover from a year of spend.
So as a quick re-cap – and I mean quick…we wanted to make chase with the Seat Supercopas, tried hard, got close, yet ultimately failed to match the pace of a factory built race car. Said attempts ended up with me chasing UAE Touring Car Champion, Jon Simmonds, a little bit too keenly at Yas Marina and having a meeting with the wall after trying to take turn 3 just that little bit faster than the car was capable. I saved the initial loss of traction (read – dirty great big oversteer moment) but sadly failed to catch the rather large tank slap that sent myself and the Golf charging towards the wall. Gladly I was ok but the car took a bit of a beating.
It seems like a year has passed yet we are feeling closer to the goal of a complete car at long last. This time its one with a little bit more thought and sense put towards the end result of creating a fast, fun and ultimately reliable race car and all being well this year will reap the rewards with consistent race finishes and lower costs.

AMD in the UK have been campaigning their Mk5 Golf GTi in this years BTCC. After numerous telephone calls and emails we received our kit. The decision to remove the previous years wide body kit was made very early on in the process.

The work to rectify the rear wings without replacing the whole rear quarter panels has been extensive.

Partners in crime. The big bad MK5 of Mr Hannak could really be a force this year. With well over 400hp to legally use to hunt down Seats, I can see myself playing catch up.
