The 2009/2010 season was the first for family race team, JG Racing, in the UAE National Racing Series. The team, started with myself (Jonny) and my old man, Geoff, began the year with the intention of running just the one car.

Geoff put his hand up and was due to run in the Gulf Radical Cup with the ex Neil Greer Caterham seven. The car originally started out as a road car which after being street registered was then turned in to a FIA approved race car, pushing out 227whp!

Geoff did a great job coming to terms with the car and the racing for that matter. That might sound a bit odd, however both of us coming from a stockcar background.

We had some very good races with Jeremy Lester on the track, with Jeff and ourselves being the only Caterhams on the track and even managed to push and keep up with the radicals at times. Having been bitten by the bug, Geoff decided due to the small group in the invitation class, to make the move into the Radical Class and found himself an SR3.
