As morning arrived, the track bore witness to the 10s of thousands of laps travelled by the teams. Check out the marbles left by the tyres. And the awesome-looking Donkervoort rapidly approaching.
Just as well there’s no import tax on gaffer tape in the UAE, or several teams would have found themselves out of pocket. Contact in endurance racing is pretty much expected, but flapping bodywork is a big no-no.
Sometimes of course, more industrial adjustments are necessary.
The Lotus Evora run by the crack team of Lotus Factory drivers picked up the fastest lap time in SP3, and finished third in class.

Thanks guys – great shots that sum up the atmosphere of the weekend (not sure about Paul trying to snog Richard however…..)!
I was really pleased to still be involved with the sixth running of this event. Two things really stand out for me;
– This year the race really did seem to come of age. It has really taken its place on the world stage and has proved wrong those who doubted it could work nearly seven years ago when two Dutch guys contacted me at the Autodrome with a crazy idea…..
– following on from last year it was so satisfying to see drivers from the UAE national racing scene enjoying participation in the event and doing so well.
Thanks guys – it was a real pleasure for all of us to be part of such a great event!
