This point of ‘family’ is further hammered home on our tour of the facility, half an hour or so before the main doors are officially opened to the public. This being a Ducati showroom, there’s a whole host of Multistradas, Diavels, Hypermotards and awesomely-named Monsters to trip over as we circle the 1300 sqm of floor space. The temptation to climb aboard a matte black Monster, twist the throttle and go ‘Vroom’ is fortunately shelved by our tour group moving onto the next section.

In the shop we find branded hats, helmets, t-shirts, polo shirts, leathers and jackets for both adults and children. I can’t help noticing quite a few ‘46’ embossed shirts, a homage to current Ducati MotoGP signing Valentino Rossi. One wonders how many of these will still be on the shelf when the Italian ace moves back to Yamaha for the 2013 season…
