Following on from the preview last week, here at long last is the full picture article from our adventures at the Emirates Motorplex. Myself and fellow contributor Michael Bale decided at 9.00pm that we should pull our fingers out and go and grab some pictures of the Drag racing and show car event that was being held that evening. To cut a long story short we rocked up just as the lights were being turned off therefore missing our initial planned event only to catch something that blew both of us away!

The best way to help you picture what was going on is to show you this pic. Take one large flat area, tarmac, floodlight and then go crazy. It reminded me a lot of the apres drag racing “Snake Pit” that is sometimes used in Australia to burn some rubber and have a good time.

The local boys where on form as always. I am always surprised at these boy’s enthusiasm!

A Land Cruiser pick-up pumping out big horsepower and burning the hides. After entering the arena these guys just sit the cars on the rev limiters until the tyres explode.

I thought this was a great picture to help emphasize the scene. A big horsepower old skool Patrol on Cross plies drifting!! Sounds weird to say even now..

The last picture from Part one is of a chap that thought it was cool to sit on the back of a low loader banging his engine off the rev limiter. It wasn’t surprising that the local crowd loved it…Made for a cool picture though.
