MDStudio presents its rendered vision of the brand new Ferrari 488 GT3. But when will Maranello build theirs?
[Not a valid template]Could this be the new Ferrari 488 GT3?
In short, no. Or it seems unlikely at least. That Maranello will soon unveil a brand new GT racing equivalent of its 458 replacement is simply a matter of time (Ferrari does enjoy its category wins at Le Mans, after all), but the guys at MDstudio were feeling a little impatient, and have come up with the below renders.
The ball is in your court now Ferrari…
With a render, speculation is usually pretty high. We can assume that under that meticulously moulded bodywork lies the same 660bhp 3.9-litre, turbocharged V8, albeit with reduced power and now mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox for endurance racing purposes. Based on technical regulations for the European Le Mans Series and Blancpain GT Series, the most significant elements of the bodywork include a new front splitter, fixed rear wing, racing slicks, as well as a demonic livery catch the eye and new air intakes for engine bay and brake cooling. Whether mdlstudio.lu becomes the team’s primary sponsor remains to be seen…
