You’ve probably heard of the FXX (and 599XX) Clienti programme. It was first set up by Ferrari to allow its wealthiest customers access to the Scuderia’s technological know how.
It also gave them access to some of the world’s greatest race circuits in the fastest ‘track day toy’ to ever bear the Ferrari badge. Budget allowing, of course. Recently the program visited Silverstone, home to the Formula One British Grand Prix.
Although the Clienti programme doesn’t actually race, that doesn’t mean the FXX cars on-site weren’t being pushed hard around the circuit, and this can often lead to the driver’s skill level giving out before the car does.
The program gets each participant involved in the setup of the FXX and provides as much driver tuition as is requested. Consequently, by the end of the weekend, lap times had dropped noticeably as each driver improved.
