The FF will undoubtedly do well in a place like Oman. Although they surrounded the car with snow and ice for the official launch, in many ways the FF seems to have been specifically crafted for the mindset and expectations of the Middle East market. In these parts we want the space and practicality, but the flamboyance and performance, too. Unlike many other supercars, getting in and out of the FF is not cumbersome but rather graceful, and will titillate those wearing the Omani national dress or even ladies in evening gowns, so I imagine we’ll see quite a few FFs at regional red carpet and VIP events in the near future.

Take any other ‘supercar inconvenience’ you can think of, and throw it in to the mix; the new FF is worth it. There is no other car available today that weaves together prestige, style, practicality AND stonking performance, like the FF. It will give you chills. It will make you smile. It may even make you cry. It is the most expressive Ferrari to date, and it is undoubtedly a car that will be music to many ears.

First off, this car’s 4×4 system is revolutionary for a supercar, and is clearly a fantastic byproduct of a mid-front engine layout. The power transfer unit is Ferrari’s way of eliminating a heavy front differential, along with its associated driveshafts. Instead, an electro-hydraulically actuated unit, compact in size and low in weight, houses two wet clutches that independently direct torque via a dual-gear system to either left or right front wheels – independent to what is going on out the back! Thanks to this unit, the car also benefits from a 47/53 front/rear weight distribution, making it just a touch more fun when attempting a too-fast-too-furious-esque power slide.
