Ferrari FF. Driving Ferrari’s new GT in the Alps

Finally, true to the exhibitionist hiding deep within most supercar owners, the FF features two intake pipes with diaphragms, that capture air intake pressure and feed that sound directly into the cabin. The result is a slightly raspy and throaty aural note that permeates your personal space whilst you drive. I would like to add at this point that in recent times Ferrari has come under fire for how it handles the press. I will stop so short as to say “what a load of bollocks.” Whilst I admire and respect the brilliance of the journalists and editors at sites such as Jalopnik,  the way in which Ferrari is described is certainly not the way I have experienced things in the Middle East. Now,  sure,  I am not in the UK,  where the main irks originated,  and sure,  if anyone is ever going to show a car off or present it to someone,  they are going to do their best to make sure it is exceptional. I mean,  the last time I sold a car of mine,  I went to great lengths to make it look amazing,  so tweaking press cars is sort of acceptable. I mean,  ok,  perhaps things can get a little too controlled at times,  but what about other manufacturers who refrain from letting you disengage safety controls and issue out outlandish waivers for insurance? Ferrari are pretty damn relaxed when it comes to going nuts in their cars,  so that,  to my mind,  more than makes up for ‘tightening the noose’ on car journos. To digress; I rarely meet a car journo of any merit during these trips these days. The exception being this trip to Brunico,  where,  I can safely say,  I was surrounded by what I think to be some of the best car journalists on the planet. Ferrari are getting more than just their cars right these days. – KJH
